The ROK Cup SA team certainly made their presence felt the past weekend with a strong performance in the Autumn Cup, warm up event for this weekends 2019 ROK Cup Superfinal.
There are some silverware making its way home with Reagile Mailula who placed 3rd in the past weekends final for the Entry level class. Luke Hill finished in 6th place after a hard fought race.
In Mini ROK, Nik Roos was the teams highest placed finisher out a field of 104 drivers. Roos was as high up as 5th in the final after the first few corners in the opening lap. Some misfortune saw him forced off the rack and eventually finished 19th after making up some places. Very good pace also came from Lukas Royston and KC Ensor Smith during practice and qualifying.
In JNR Rok Josh Le Roux was the favorite after a phenomenal qualifying to grab some more silverware for the team but found it difficult during the heats and in the final having to retire not long after the start of the race. Leyton Fourie put forward the challenge in the final but too was involved in an unfortunate indecent that ended his race after making his way up the field with blistering pace. Ndumiso had a quite weekend settling in and getting to grips with the track. The team will be joined this weekend by Danielle Patrizi and Kwanda Mokoena who will be itching to get onto track and in the thick of things.
Joe Ellerine put up a good fight this past weekend and finished 23rd in the final. Joe only decided to take on the ROK Shifter class midway through this season and he will be making further progress as the week goes on in this extremely difficult and physically demanding class. Joe will be joined this weekend by Scott Falconer and Dylan Seely. After finishing on the podium in 2018 Fabienne Lanz unfortunately had to withdraw from the 2019 event.
